ENDORSEMENTS

Dennis Leri is a brilliant and inspiring teacher. Studying the Feldenkrais Method with him is by far the most valuable thing I've ever done for my playing, my teaching and myself.

— Elisabeth Reed, musician, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, University of California at Berkeley.

During our Feldenkrais Method training with Dennis, we of course had many questions about everything. Dennis never offered a simplistic answer when the matter at hand wasn't served by one—and this was often the case. But through the training I gradually came to understand that this approach is consonant with the practice of the Method itself. That is, Dennis used the Feldenkrais Method as a means for us to learn the Feldenkrais Method. For me this was a deeply engaging and satisfying way, one that started a process of learning that hasn't ended yet. As can be the case with Feldenkrais lessons themselves, through my training with Dennis I answered questions I hadn't even realized I had. In my experience, this is something rare to find.

Part of the impetus for coming to a Professional Feldenkrais Training can arrive from a desire to understand how it could be that the gentle and specific movements of the Method can create such clarity of attention, grace, and plasticity of thinking, and to experience this more. One wants to be able to impart this to others with confidence and understanding. Dennis Leri’s Training delivers.

The intelligence of the Method is embodied in Dennis' approach; the Training provides a learning environment where the pedagogy so intimately matches the material that one experiences coherency. And this is immeasurable. It provides tools to approach teaching, learning, and to experience living with vitality one can only imagine. Even if you leave these tools in the shed for a while, they’re always there for you.

From the beginning of the Training with Dennis, Funkadelic's words "Free Your Mind and Your Ass Will Follow" came to me like a joke, because with the invitation, it was clear that the inverse was equally true. This is a kind of revelation, and the facility of constructing thinking and moving only deepens over the course of the years of your training with Dennis and will continue to do so.

If you are a good match, there is really no better way to spend your time.

Dennis Leri is a generous and challenging teacher with great respect for his students. He teaches how to observe and how to think. The training has improved my awareness; It has been critical in technically improving my swimming and competitive sculling, kept me healthy through hard training and made every day life — from walking to sitting at a computer — easier. And my wife says she never would have married me if I had not done the training.

— Greg Lewis, Ph.D., physicist and competitive sculler.
